Cowgirl Motel was one of my first passion projects as a design major. I had always wanted to get into signage and hand lettering so this was the perfect jumping off point for me to explore both of those interests and get a fun new piece of decor out of it too!
Every aspect of this sign from conception to completion was done by myself in about two weeks time. I did the illustration, planned out the typography, and created an Ai file for the laser engraver. After I had both of my pieces fully cut out and sanded down I began to paint and assemble the sign by hand, including the holes I drilled for the lights with a $6 manual drill.
Continuing with my vintage theme I designed some merch for my Cowgirl motel including key tags, coffee mugs, and matchbooks.
